Resident Engineer

About the Role:

AGORA is seeking a skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team in Zimbabwe.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 4-year diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent Qualification. 
• 3+ years’ relevant experience
• Additional qualifications in project or construction management are advantageous.

Experience and Skills:

• Experience in residential construction, site supervision, or project management.
• Strong knowledge and experience of construction quality control, inspections, snagging, and defect management.
• Understanding of construction processes, sequencing, programming, and site operations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Experience liaising with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Experience monitoring project progress through daily diaries, look-ahead programmes, and progress reporting.
• Ability to review RFIs, site instructions, drawings, shop drawings, and contractor documentation.
• Understanding of construction contracts, payment claims, and contract administration.
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to support commissioning, completion, and handover of projects.
